“Our Story”

“So how do two soul-mates finally find each other,” you ask? Well it all started with the help of a couple friends. Sarah was my friend and Brian was his friend, and event though both of us had been reluctant to be “set up,” we agreed to it one day. It was a double date to the Ohio Renaissance Festival on September 19th, 2004. We had a good time there and shared our first dessert together - a funnel cake! Then it did take Brandon a few days to ask me out again, but he did and we got Mexican food and went to a movie the next week. By the third date I decided to invite Brandon over for my specialty – homemade lasagna. Well I guess I was nervous because I let it burn, but he still ate it and asked for seconds! I was hooked! Could this guy be fore real or is this too good to be true?

We started spending as much time together as we possibly could, introducing each other to our friends and families and to new ideas and adventures. I laughed more than I ever had before. We soon realized that we were deeply in love and wanted to share our lives with each other.

“The Proposal”

We started talking about getting married, casually and then more seriously. I knew Brandon wanted to surprise me and I had no idea what he had in mind.

On a Sunday afternoon, on July 31st, 2005, after going to church we wanted to get some lunch and go on a picnic. Brandon had been talking about us going geocaching - which is essentially a treasure hung using a mapped trail that you find on the Internet. So we were going to go to East Fork Lake and eat lunch and go on one of these trails. We went through the drive-thru at KFC and got chicken and I almost ruined the whole day when I got mad because the didn’t give us eating utensils - can you believe that? Well Brandon got us what we needed and we were on our way. It was a beautiful sunny day and we were enjoying the nature around us. We got to the specific trail and Brandon let me take the map and figure out the clues. Can you guess what the treasure was that I found on X-marks-the-spot? It was my diamond ring that Brandon designed and had custom-made for me! The funny part is that he had buried it underground and some little animal had chewed the box up. So he asked me to marry him and I said of course. Can you believe that I didn’t see that coming that day and I was totally surprised?

So now we’re up to today. We’re planning a wedding and planning our life together. Each day we get more in love and more thankful that we found each other. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us.
